Procedures and Policies for Maintaining and Utilizing Facilities

Procedures and policies are followed for maintaining and utilizing physical, academic and support facilities such as laboratories, library, sports complex, computers and classrooms. The institution focuses on the optimal utilization of these facilities and has established systems and procedures for maintaining them, carried out by the following committees:

The above committees verify equipment and facilities against the stock register, suggest improvements, and submit reports to the Principal for review with the departments concerned.

  1. Laboratories: Science department staff ensure proper and optimum utilization of equipment. Support staff (Lab Assistant, Herbarium Keeper, Record Assistant, Office Subordinate) maintain the laboratories under the supervision of the department in-charge. Requests for new equipment are resolved in departmental meetings and forwarded to the Principal and the Purchase Committee, with entries recorded in the stock register and verified annually by the Stock Verification Committee.
  2. IT Infrastructure: Software updates, anti-virus, networking and internet connectivity are maintained under the supervision of the Department of Computer Science.
  3. Library: The Library Advisory Committee resolves requirements for new books, magazines and journals, purchased through the Purchase Committee. Pest control and book-binding are done periodically.
  4. Sports: The Physical Director and the Games and Sports Committee maintain the gym and sports equipment.
  5. Furniture: Minor repairs and purchases of furniture are handled by the Purchase Committee in coordination with the Furniture Committee, under the supervision of the Principal.

Other Infrastructure: Maintenance of the RO water plant, campus cleaning, washrooms, and electrical and plumbing works is done by the supporting staff under the supervision of the Principal.
