Department of History

                  The Department of History was established in 1978. During the last 41 years the department has distinguished itself among the frontline departments in this collage. It started with a sanctioned strength of 80 students. Now we run English and Telugu mediums. History department has been assisting in the college administration in organizing almost every event and activity in the college, and also conducted two national seminars founded by UGC and ICSSR.  One ICSSR Minor Research   Projects ongoing in Department.  

     They will do research in the diverse fields of Indian History and also applied Major and Minor research projects.

         Department of history organized two National Seminars and one ICSSR Minor Research Project

  • UGC Sponsored Two Days National Seminar On    “SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS INFLUENCING - ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION, BIODIVERSITY & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” July, 25th & 26th/07/2015
  • ICSSR Sponsored One Day National Seminar On    “Welfare and Development Schemes In The Socio- Economic Development of Scheduled Caste people in India”.20th  August, 2016.   
  • ICSSR Minor Research Project “Analyzing tourism Potentials in Chittoor district with particular reference to Nature tourism”.

Weaknesses

  • The socio-economic background of many of the students
  • Most of the students are of first generation
  • Poor communication skills in English.
