Brief History

The Department of Mathematics was established during the academic year 1979-80 with B.Sc. MPC group with Telugu as the medium of instruction. Later, B.Sc. MPCs (Computer Science) group was introduced during the academic year 2009-10. The Department of Mathematics was added another feather with the introduction of B.Sc. MPC with English as the medium of instruction. Now, the Department caters to all the groups of Mathematics i.e. B.Sc. MPC (TM & EM) and B.Sc. MPCs. The Department was headed by Sri. N. Munaswamy Naidu, one of the stalwarts in the region in Mathematics, when the Department came into existence. Now,  R. Srinivas, Assistant Professor in Mathematics and V.Swapna, Guest Faculty are working in the Department.

To be a leading mathematics department and to keep the flame of mathematics burning even in the rural areas and resourceless environment.

Mission

• To provide an envoronment where students can learn competent users of mathematics.
• To discover, mentor and nurture mathematically inclined students and provide them a supportive environment that fosters intellectual growth.
• To enable the students to acquire the basic knowledge of PG mathematics
