College Planning and Development Council (CPDC)

Rules & Regulations

The College Planning and Development Council (CPDC) of the Government college concerned is established in the name of the College Planning and Development Council of Govt. Degree College, Nagari, as per the resolution of the Staff Council.

Constitution of CPDC

The Principal (President) nominates all the members in consultation with the Staff Council of the college. The Lecturer-Members should be one senior Lecturer and two suitable senior Lecturers from GCTA / GCGTA, A.P. The Members elect the Secretary of the CPDC. The usual term of a member on the committee is two years. The Principal and Lecturer cease to be members if they are transferred or retired; the new Principal automatically becomes the President. The Parent member loses membership once the ward completes the course. Vacancies are filled by the President from time to time.

Objectives

  1. To create a suitable environment and a mechanism for community participation in the planning and development of the Government college, without interfering with its rules and regulations of functioning.
  2. To create a mechanism whereby public contributions can be mobilized for the development of Government colleges.
  3. To act as an active medium between the college and the community for mutual benefit.
  4. To enable the community to advise and assist in introducing relevant courses of study based on the felt needs of the area and to improve the quality of education.
  5. To help create the right climate for academic, cultural and social-service-oriented activities in the college for the benefit of the students.

Powers and Functions

  1. To work for the furtherance of the objectives of the CPDC.
  2. To manage the CPDC and to decide on admission of members and filling of casual vacancies.
  3. To generate a separate CPDC fund and to utilize it solely for the furtherance of the objectives of the CPDC.
  4. To operate money-matters by opening a separate account for the CPDC fund in a nationalized bank.
  5. To prepare a detailed plan, with annual budgetary allocations, for college development and to execute developmental programmes.
