Rules and Regulations

The following rules apply to all students of Government Degree College, Nagari. Admission to the college implies acceptance of these rules.

General Conduct
  • Every student must carry the photo identity card on campus at all times and produce it on demand.
  • Students should observe the timings of college, library, and laboratory activities strictly.
  • Use of mobile phones is prohibited inside classrooms, laboratories, and the library.
  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol or any narcotic substance on the campus is strictly prohibited.
  • Damage to college property — furniture, equipment, walls, garden, or vehicles — is a serious breach of discipline.
  • Students must maintain silence and decorum in corridors and academic blocks.
Attendance & Leave
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required in both theory and practicals to be eligible for the end-semester examinations.
  • Continuous absence for more than seven days without leave will lead to the student’s name being struck off the rolls.
  • Leave applications, with supporting documents where applicable, must be submitted to the class teacher / Head of Department.
  • Absence on medical grounds requires a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
Examinations
  • Examinations are conducted as per the academic calendar and the schedule published by the Controller of Examinations.
  • Students must carry the hall ticket and a valid photo ID to every examination.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the examination hall.
  • Any form of malpractice will be dealt with strictly as per the Autonomous Examination Regulations.
  • Re-totalling and re-evaluation requests must be made within the timeframe notified after the publication of results.
Library
  • Members must produce a library card / ID to borrow books.
  • Books should be returned on or before the due date; overdue charges apply thereafter.
  • Reference books, journals, and periodicals are for reading inside the library only.
  • Silence must be maintained inside the library at all times.
  • Loss or damage of a borrowed book attracts replacement or compensation as decided by the Librarian.
Anti-Ragging
  • Ragging in any form, inside or outside the campus, is a punishable offence under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.
  • Any student found involved in ragging will be liable to expulsion and / or criminal prosecution.
  • Students may report incidents of ragging in confidence to the Anti-Ragging Committee or directly to the Principal.
  • Both freshers and senior students are required to sign the anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission.
Discipline
  • Students should be courteous and polite to teachers, non-teaching staff, and fellow students at all times.
  • Unauthorised gatherings, demonstrations, or distribution of pamphlets on the campus are not permitted.
  • Permission of the Principal is required for inviting any external guest or organising any programme.
  • Violation of college rules will be referred to the Student Discipline Committee for action.

The Principal reserves the right to modify these rules from time to time. Any amendment will be notified on the college notice board and on this website.
