About the Department
The Department of History was established in 1978 and has distinguished itself among the College’s frontline departments over more than four decades. It started with a sanctioned strength of 80 students and now runs both English and Telugu medium. The Department regularly assists in organising College-wide events and activities, and has conducted two UGC/ICSSR-sponsored National Seminars, alongside an ongoing ICSSR Minor Research Project.

Future Plans
The Department plans to establish a History Heritage Lab featuring charts, models, inscription photographs, ancient vessels, ornaments and coins, alongside conducting more syllabus-oriented student seminars.
