Anti-Ragging Cell
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited on and off the College campus under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. The Anti-Ragging Cell exists to prevent, monitor and act on any incident of ragging.
About the Cell
Both fresh entrants and senior students sign anti-ragging undertakings at the time of admission. Complaints — including anonymous ones — may be made directly to any member of the Cell, dropped in the Anti-Ragging Box at the College office, or sent to the national helpline.
What Counts as Ragging
- Any disorderly conduct, written or verbal, that teases or handles a junior student with rudeness.
- Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm.
- Asking a junior student to perform any act that they would not voluntarily do, causing shame or embarrassment.
- Any act of physical or financial extortion, abuse, or wrongful confinement.
Action & Penalties
- Suspension from classes and academic privileges.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Withholding or withdrawal of scholarship and benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in any test or examination.
- Expulsion from the institution and a ban from joining other institutions.
- Criminal proceedings under applicable law.
How to Report
- Speak to any member of the Anti-Ragging Cell or directly to the Principal.
- Drop a written or anonymous complaint in the Anti-Ragging Box at the College office.
